Good Morning Everyone. It has been a long time since I have updated this blog and I apologize about that.  Legacy Homeschool Co-Op is open for registration for its Fall and Spring Semesters.  This year, we have a lot to offer and some of the most outstanding teachers that can be found. Cost per student is $15.00 and you will need to purchase the curriculum for your children.

Classes begin at 9 am and will continue to 11:30 am.  We have classes for everyone and even a nursery.  The schedule is as follows:

  •   10:00 - Exercise and Play Time 
  • Grades 1- 3 
  •   9:00 - Art with Tatyana Sils
  •   10:00 Break Time
  •   10:15 to 11:30 - Flying Creatures of the Fifth Day - Jodie C
  • Grades 4 - 7 
  •    9:00 Intermediate Physical Science with Kathy Phillips
  •    10:15 - 11:30 Art with Tatyana Sils and Kim Roper
  • Grades 8 - 10   
  •     9:00 - Algebra I - Saxon with Rene Genobles
  •     10:15 - Advanced Physical Science with Kathy Phillips
  • Grades 11 - 12   
  •    9:00 Algebra 2 with Angela Wilkerson (Class Pending)
  •    10:15 - Composition with Angela Wilkerson ( Class Pending)
As you can see we have something for everyone but you must hurry to get a seat.

Grand opening for classes is SEPTEMBER 1, 2011 at Restoration Church International in Gaffney SC.
This will be a meet and greet day and a great time to have some fun! 

We are looking at a field trip to the Green River in North Carolina in September. Cost will be no more than $7.00 per person to tube down this river.  It is a two hour trip but be prepared for a minimum of three hours to four hours. Dates will be announced and sign up forms will be available on September 1.

We will also inform everyone of potential trips for the Spring!  OH YEAH!  We may be going back!!!!!!!  We will talk about costs and ideas from the group.  It is going to be a great year!

For families wishing to join the Legacy Co-op, there is still time to email us!  We are offering
  1.  Apologia Biology for the highschooler. We are using a site called Moodle for homeroom assignments/quizzes and emams.  We will also host game days and review days in the online classroom via Elluminate.  Labs are complete at our facility at Restoration Church Internation.
  2. Human Physiology and Anatomy by Jeannie Fulbright - will host interactive labs, notebooking exercise and much more.  4th through 7th grades.
  3. Astronomy by Jeannie Fulbright for the 1st through 3rd grade students.  Everything from arts and crafts to writing will be covered.
  4. We have a k4 - k5 class also that will also teach the ABC, counting and much more using Abeka.
If you are interested, you need to contact us immediately so that we can get you enrolled in these classes. There are classroom fees to cover the arts and craft exercies and lab fees for the older students.  There is also a $15 dollar per student to help pay for rental of the facility.  Discounts available for larger families.

Human Anatomy and Physiology Class

Grades:  Fourth - Seventh Grade

Text Book Required:  Exploring Creation with Human Anatomy and Physiology
                                  by Jeannie Fulbright & Brooke Ryan, MD

                                 Anatomy Notebooking Journal for Exploring Creation with Human Anatomy
                                and Physiology  *fourth graders will need to purchase this book;        
                                5th-7th grade will use parts of the book (some parts are too simple for these ages)
                                -it is up to the parent(s) to decide if multiple books are needed.                     
                               **both text and notebook available at Christianbook.com, Amazon.com, etc

Supplies Required:

  • Three ring binder
  • Notebook paper
  • Dividers for three ring binder
  • Sheet protectors
  • Writing Pencils
  • Colored Pencils
  • Text Books as described above
  • Lab Fee-if needed, a small charge $2.50/student +/- per lab-will let parent know ahead two-three weeks prior to lab (projected number of labs this might apply to: 2-3)


Course Description:

This class is designed for 4th-7th graders.  The class will include weekly/bi monthly quizzes, end of chapter(s) test, mid term exam and final exam.  Also, labs will be incorporated into the lessons to enhance learning.
The 5th-7th grade students will be required to do extra course work such as extra reading, special projects, quizzes/test tailored to their academic level, etc.

A complete syllabus will be provided the first day of class.

This Semester, Kathy Phillips will be teaching Biology using Apologia's Biology Textbook. This text is designed for a 10th grade level student but it will  be offered to those who either feel that they are ready for this course to those who need it to complete the high school experience.  Labs are being added to this course!

There will be limited seating for this class. It will be based on a first come, first serve basis.  Prior to enrolling, please look at class requirements and materials needed!

  1. Every Student MUST have the textbook and accompanying materials! 
  2. Two notebooks. One for lab and one for class notes. These will be graded!
  3. Microscope. A student microscope can be purchased at Home Science Tools
  4. Lab Specimen ... We will order these as a group when it is needed.  This will give us a small discount. 
  5. Prepared lab slides for this course. Can be purchased at Home Science Tools as well. 
  6. A classroom Fee of $15.00 per student to help cover cost of clean up and usage.
