THE IOWA TEST MATERIALS HAVE ARRIVED!

We are ready to go for the end of April and the first part of May. I am excited to have this opportunity this year. I am testing my second grader here at the house. I honestly enjoy the testing process. The first year that I decided to test my son, I was afraid of what the test would tell me. Had I failed my child? What would others think about his grades? ETC. You name it!

But, I decided to test Ben last year and it was the BEST decision that I ever made. It took such a huge burder off of my shoulders. I realized that he was at normal ranges and even off the scale on others. It helped to guide me in the areas that he was struggling in and where his strenghts are. You can not imagine how much less stress I had after the test.

You have to look at these tests this way. It is a tool for the teacher! What else can you do to help your child? It even helped guide me in what curriculum I needed and what curriculum needed to be changed.
